La Régalade, the restaurant of the Hôtel de France

La Régalade, the restaurant of the Hôtel de France
La Régalade is the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, run by chef Bruno Doucet. It is a bistro in the proper sense: a short blackboard menu, generous plates, sauces made the long way, and a dining room where regulars and travellers sit side by side. Open Tuesday to Saturday.
The €27 lunch menu
At midday the kitchen serves a set menu at €27: a starter, a main and a dessert chosen from the day’s board. The cooking follows the market and the season — terrines and eggs in meurette in winter, cold starters and fruit desserts in summer. À la carte is available at lunch and dinner alongside the set menu.
Burgundy on the plate and in the glass
Classics come from the region: œufs en meurette, jambon persillé, bœuf bourguignon, and cheeses from Burgundy affineurs. The wine list is built around the appellations that surround Beaune — Pommard, Volnay, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Meursault, Ladoix — with bottles from small growers and several wines by the glass so you can taste your way through the côte.
Booking a table
The dining room is small and fills up, especially in autumn around the Hospices sale and during the Beaune festivals. Please book ahead on +33 3 80 22 12 92 or at contact@hdfbeaune.com. Hotel guests can reserve at check-in. See also our rooms, services and how to reach us.
The snack menu and bar, open every day
The restaurant dining room closes on Sunday and Monday, but the snack menu and the bar stay open seven days a week, from 7 am to 10.30 pm. It is the morning coffee before the first train, a quick lunch between two winery visits, a glass of Burgundy on the way back from the vines, and something to eat in the evening when the town has shut. Hotel guests only have a staircase to come down; passers-by are welcome without booking.
