The Hôtel de France has welcomed travellers to Beaune since 1890. It stands at 35 avenue du 8 Septembre 1944, directly across from the railway station and a ten-minute walk from the Hospices de Beaune, the covered market and the old town. Twenty-two renovated rooms, a reception desk accessible 24 hours a day, and a bistro downstairs.
Your base for the Burgundy wine country
Beaune is the capital of Burgundy wine, and the Route des Grands Crus starts at the edge of town. The Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne is fifteen minutes away on foot. Cyclists can pick up the Voie des Vignes, a traffic-free path that runs 46 km to Dijon through Pommard, Volnay, Meursault and Nuits-Saint-Georges. We keep bikes safe overnight and can point you to the growers worth calling ahead.
Rooms, breakfast and the restaurant
Single, double, twin, triple and family rooms, all with private bathroom, flat-screen television and free wifi. Check-in from 3 pm, check-out until 11 am. The buffet breakfast runs from 6.30 am to 10 am — €14 per adult, €8 per child — early enough for the first train. Downstairs, La Régalade by chef Bruno Doucet serves generous French bistro cooking Tuesday to Saturday, with a €27 lunch menu. The snack menu and bar are open every day, 7 am to 10.30 pm, including Sunday and Monday. Pets are welcome at €10 a night.
