Hotel rooms in Beaune, a step from the station
The Hôtel de France has 22 hotel rooms in Beaune, in five categories, from a single to a duplex for four. The hotel stands directly opposite the railway station and five minutes on foot from the historic centre: you get off the train, drop your bags, and walk to the Hospices or the Cité des Climats et Vins without touching a car.
Five room categories
The Single sleeps one in a large bed. The Classic double and the Superior double or twin sleep two, with a large bed or two singles as you prefer. The Quadruple and the Duplex sleep four, with a large bed and a sofa bed. Every room has a private bathroom.
Room equipment
Each room is soundproofed, with quality bedding, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV with terrestrial and cable channels, and free wifi throughout the hotel. The building is entirely non-smoking. Two things to know before booking: there is no lift and no step-free access. Tell us when you book and we will give you a room on the lowest available floor.

Why stay in Beaune
Beaune is the most practical base for the Côte-d’Or. From our rooms, the Hospices and the Hôtel-Dieu are five minutes on foot, as is the Saturday morning market on place de la Halle; the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne is a quarter of an hour away. By car, the Route des Grands Crus starts at the edge of town: Pommard, Volnay, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet all make a day out. Cyclists leave straight from the hotel on the Voie des Vignes, which reaches Dijon in 46 km through the vineyards.

Air conditioning, Chromecast and the small things
All 22 rooms are air-conditioned — not a given in the old buildings of Beaune, and a real difference in July. Each one has a courtesy tray with kettle, tea and coffee, and a flat-screen television fitted with a Chromecast: you cast Netflix, YouTube or your own photos straight from your phone, with no account to log into on the set. A chilled and sparkling water fountain is freely available in the hotel.
